This is a collection born from a chapter of my life I never expected to write. I never imagined I would find myself living and conducting research in South Florida. Looking back, I can't imagine my journey in science and photography without it.

Over the years, the greater Everglades ecosystem revealed itself as one of the most extraordinary and complex ecosystems I have ever explored. From vast freshwater marshes and ancient cypress domes to mangrove forests and the critical swamp habitat of the endangered Florida panther. Every day in the field offered new discoveries and a deeper appreciation for this remarkable landscape. While researching the ecology and behavior of native crayfish and invasive Asian swamp eel, I was fortunate to experience the Everglades far beyond the places most visitors ever see.

This collection is a reflection of that journey. Along the way, I documented many of the species that make South Florida so extraordinary—from manatees, wading birds, and colorful reptiles to the elusive Florida panther—while capturing the diverse habitats that support them. Together, these photographs celebrate an ecosystem whose beauty, biodiversity, and conservation importance continue to inspire me long after my time in the field.
