Thanks for visiting my site!
I’m a first-generation Costa Rican-American field biologist & wildlife photographer obsessed with adventuring outdoors, usually with my dog.
I have a profound interest in wildlife ecology, conservation, and science education. I believe integrative field biology and natural history observations are critical in developing hypothesis-driven research that expands our understanding of the biodiversity in our natural world. I also believe photography plays a key role in science and conservation communication.
My passion for wildlife, conservation, and storytelling began at a very young age and was largely due to traveling throughout Costa Rica with my family as a child and listening to stories told by my park ranger uncle. My interest in wildlife photography developed at the start of my Ph.D., initially from using it as a tool to study animal behavior in the field.
Now, I use photography not only to conduct research and communicate science, but also to help inspire a passion for wildlife, wild places, and to create advocates for conservation. If you would like to collaborate or have any questions, I’d love to hear from you!
